Mountain Reedbuck males have horns, they are short, stout and point forward. Mountain Reedbuck are found in mountainous and rocky areas.
Preferences are hill country with scattered bush, trees or grassy slopes. Mountain Reedbuck avoid steep rock faces. This species is active at night and during the day, but when it is extremely hot they tend to lie down in the shade. When alarmed it usually flees downhill, as opposed to other Reedbuck that often flee up the slopes.
