Eland is the largest member of the spiral horn family.

Eland are very adaptable to habitat, and can thrive in semi desert shrubveld, in woodlands and moist mountain grasslands. Trees and shrubs are very important. They avoid open grasslands.
Eland are not dependant on water. Eland make a very characteristic clicking sound when they walk.
