Jack and Daniel ( team Jack Daniels) from Maryland Hunt South Africa with Induna Safaris.
24 July 2014
Jack and Daniel arrived this morning to do their first Hunt in South Africa. After settling in quickly, they headed out to site their rifles, and have a scout about, there was no wasting time sitting around the lodge.
25th July 2014
Started off the morning stalking a kudu that managed to escape them. Jack did however manage to get a beautiful Impala, that he took with one shot! It was an 80 yard shot, which dropped the Impala immediately. Excellent start to his first Hunt in South Africa.
After lunch back at the lodge, Daniel picked a ram out of a group of about 40 impalas, at a distance of about 180 yards, where he managed to bag a great Impala trophy, with a one shot kill!
A good day was had, and both Jack and Daniel were able to scratch Impala off their trophy lists.
Good start team Jack Daniels!

Despite the freezing, windy conditions Jack managed to bag himself an unbelievably great Kudu trophy. A Kudu was standing sunning himself on the side of a hill, standing broadside. Jack made an excellent shot at 100 yards, with his .270, the kudu went 10 yards before expiring. Take a look at the photo to see this very impressive kudu, defeated by team Jack Daniels.

Team Jack Daniels had a successful hunting day again! They managed to bag three trophies. The first animal was Jack’s Cape Springbuck. Luckily there was a Springbuck ram that was away from the large herd, which made it a little easier to stalk this beautiful ram. Jack took a shot at 130 yards, dropping an old, impressive Springbuck ram, that Jack has been wanting to get for a long time. Next it was the Steenbuck! On the way to find a nice spot for lunch, Daniel saw a nice Steenbuck ram, Daniel made an impressive one shot kill, getting himself a nice looking Steenbuck trophy. Last but definitely not least was the Kudu bull. In the afternoon they went looking for a kudu, where they saw two Kudu bulls, feeding out into the plains, put a stalk in, and ended up coming out at about 60 yards from the Kudu bulls, and Daniel made another excellent one shot kill, to bag his majestic grey ghost!

Blesbuck was on the cards for today, and again team Jack Daniels did not go home empty handed. Daniel managed to shoot a really impressive Blesbuck ram!!
The afternoon was spent scouting at a waterhole for some warthogs, everyone was distracted by the variety of other game, namely Kudus, Blue Wildebeest, Impala, waterbuck, and even some warthog, that were not really shooters. So although nothing was shot, it was a very enjoyable afternoon.
29 July 2014
Went out to look for Gemsbuck today. Due to the difficult positioning of the Gemsbuck, as they were in open grasslands, they needed to do a long stalk, that was for about 3 hours. They then managed to get to 216 yards, where Jack took a good shot, managing to bag himself a beautiful Gemsbuck trophy.
Later in the afternoon, Daniel got a management Warthog.
And that is the end of the Jack Daniels South African Hunt! We had a lot of fun with these two fellows, that have a great passion for hunting and the outdoors! A lot of joking and banter made for a really fun and laughter filled time. We hope to see these guys again soon. Thank you for a great time!
This was a adventure of a lifetime. Every experience was more than I expected. The hunting was superb and the food was the best I’ve had anywhere. As soon as we walked through the front door Kelvin and Denise made us feel like family. Thank you for all the great memories. I hope to come back one day.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Induna Safari. The accommodations are excellent, the food to die for and the hunting second to none. Kelvin, Denise and the staff go out of their way to make sure that you are comfortable and that you feel like one of the family. His hunting properties are rugged and/or open plains with more high quality game then I believe I have seen in a lifetime of hunting in the states. Kelvin is set up for hunting from a blind overlooking the veld, water holes and travel corridors for the animals and also for stalk hunting. We were particularly interested in stalk hunting our quarry. We walked away hours glassing and stalking animals while here. Kelvin is great at sizing up the animals threw the binos and he and his tracker work together seamlessly to stalk the animals while keeping us, the hunter involved in the stalk and improving our skills to get us close for the shot. I highly recommend Induna Safaris! I had the time of my life and am looking forward to returning.
