We are thrilled with the much needed rain that we received last week, over a 100mm in two days! The rain began on the 8th of June and did not stop until the 10th of June. We have been hoping and praying for rain like this for over four years. Our dams are full to capacity which is such an amazing sight. On the second day of rain, the water was flowing in front of the lodge like a river. (see top right photo) We thought we would be stranded here for a while, but luckily we were still able to get out.
Everybody in the Eastern Cape is so relieved for the wonderful water, many years of drought has come to an end. The game are going to thrive with the new growth, and the surplus supply of water.
